Came for a week such great birding we extended our stay!
We continue to improve the sites and grounds. We recently purchased a tractor with a box drag so the road and foot path are frequently groomed and we are working on leveling the sites. Credit cards now accepted! We have phased out the name Flying W RV Ranch to Sunflower Camp. A better "branding". More fitting to our camp!
Do I need a reservation?
Answer: We often have a space available Reservations are helpful to secure a spot. Its good to call with an estimated time of arrival so we can help you park.
I have a larger Rv can I park there?
Yes we have had rigs as long as 60 feet. Bear in mind we have no concrete or asphalt. The power is limited You must drive three tenths of a mile on a dirt road to arrive. Call and check
How far to Tubac?
1/2 mile walking , 3/4 mile driving.
Is there groceries nearby? Yes lovely well stocked Tubac Market and several restaurants.
WARNING! GPS can lead you astray!
Begin use of GPS on arrival at exit 34.
Call ahead for gate code and your estimated time of arrival 520-398-9148
Take interstate 19 south toward Nogales (remember road markers are signed in Kilometers)
Watch for and use Tubac exit 34. Turn east to stop sign and then left or North on the East frontage road to Bridge Road. (just past the fire station)
Turn east, continue past cemetery to stop sign (about 1/2 mile)
Turn right, follow road (about 1/2 mile) passing horse farm and over flat top bridge all the way to black arrow.
Turn left on to dirt road along the tracks to Rail road crossing CHECK FOR TRAIN and when clear cross tracks going straight into tree lined road. (Avoid turning right on road going south along tracks!) See sign for campground. The road bears right then left. The second driveway on the left #132 is your turn. Gate key pad on left on pole. Please park near the dome. Remember to drive a pet friendly walking pace speed on the property.
